How is a Root Canal Performed?
After giving local anesthesia, a sheet of latex is placed around the tooth to isolate it and keep it clean and dry during the treatment. Usually, the complete procedure can be finished in just a single visit and that too within a short span of an hour. Some cases may require 2-3 visits at the maximum, depending on the degree of infection/inflammation.
High Success Rate
Endodontist therapy has a very high success rate and that is up to 90%, but of course, there are no guarantees. We prefer to keep our patients well informed before treating them so that they can take a well-informed decision. The success of treatment also depends upon how are you taking care of your dental hygiene. We recommend you to visit us every six months for your oral hygiene maintenance.
When to visit an Endodontist?
The root canal treatment can be challenging for a general dentist to handle, yet a cakewalk for an Endodontist.
The following situations signal you to visit an Endodontist for the best diagnosis and treatment:-
If you have severe tooth pain with or without swelling.
If there is pulp damage caused by a blow to the mouth or other traumatic injuries. If you have decay in your teeth that has extended beyond the outer layer (enamel) of your teeth
Sensitivity to hot and cold
How long does it last?
Depending on an effective and frequent oral hygiene routine, a treated tooth can last a lifetime. One should also maintain regular visits to the dentist, at least twice a year for better results.
